Ghost the Musical wel naar Australië

Helaas (nog) niet in Nederland maar Ghost the Musical zal in 2013 haar Australische première beleven in het Her Majesty Theater in Melbourne, Australië

Eind dit jaar zal de casting gaan plaatsvinden.
Ghost beleefde haar Londense première io 19 juli 2011 in het Piccadily theater waar de show tot en met 6 oktober te zien is. Op Broadway ging de show op 23 april van dit jaar in première in het Lunt-Fontane theater.
De regie van deze voorstelling is in handen van Matthew Warchus, de special effects zijn afkomstig van Paul Kieve. Het ontwerp van het LED scherm komt van Jon Driscoll.
Het script is geschreven door Bruce Joel Rubin, Dave Stewart en Glen Ballard schreven de muziek en teksten.

De Australische productie zal geproduceert worden door Colin Ingram Productions Limited en Hello Entertainment/David Garfinkle, Adam Silberman; Michael Coppel, Louise Withers, Linda Bewick en Donovan Mannato in samenwerking met Paramount Pictures Corporation.

The reason why Holland is having to wait for this show- besides the fact that SE are currently going through a "low" period- is that unlike "The Little Mermaid" "Ghost" is one of those shows that are set in stone as it were by the producers and cannot really be altered or made cheaper. The Disney show on the other hand like "Tarzan" is a very different (and apparently better) production than that which flopped on Broadway.
The main headache for SE however is history; that in New York Disney took off the then (still) very succesful 'Beauty and The Beast" on the grounds that even for Broadway two fairy-tale musicals was too much. Here by Christmas we shall have exactly that; "The Little Mermaid" plus "Shrek-the Musical" A ghastly choice for parents to have to make! Oh well..may the best musical win!
