Speaking of Sondheim shows it was formally announced yesterday that the acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory production of Sunday in the Park With George will open on Broadway in January 2008 at Studio 54. The Roundabout Theatre Company will present the musical, which recently won five Olivier Awards. Previews start January 18, 2008, with an official opening February 14. Sam Buntrock will direct. Boyett Ostar will co-produce the New York run with David Babani, who heads the Menier Chocolate Factory, where the revival bowed before moving to the Wyndham’s Theatre in London’s West End.
