Ook Soin (Brian) en Simon (Nicky/Trekkie) gaan weg:
Four new cast members are joining the West End’s Avenue Q. Daniel Boys, Rebecca Lock, Christopher Fry and Mark Goldthorp will play their first performance at London’s Noel Coward Theatre on 3 December.
After a year and a half of performances, Julie Atherton, Jon Robyns, Sion Lloyd and Simon Lipkin will be leaving the company on 1 December. While in the company they have built up a vast fan base.
Boys will take on the roles of Princeton and Rod in Avenue Q. He was recently seen in the TV series Any Dream Will Do. His theatre credits include: Austin Bennett in the U.K. premiere of I Love You Because (Landor Theatre); Anthony in Sweeney Todd (Royal Festival Hall); Mark in Rent (European tour); Person Nathaniel in the world premiere of The War of the Worlds (national tour); Doody in Grease (Victoria Palace Theatre and Japan tour) and Morino in Sunset Boulevard (national tour).
Lock will play the roles of Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut. She most recently played the role of Joan Aldriin in Moon Landing at Derby Playhouse, previously she covered and played the role of Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre and was a guest performer at a special gala performance of Side by Side by Sondheim at the Novello Theatre. Other credits include Gilda in Alfie (Watford Palace Theatre); Bertrande in Martin Guerre (Prince Edward Theatre); Jellyrolum in Cats (New London Theatre).
Fry will play the role of Brian. His theatre credits include Oh What a Lovely War and Song of Singapore (Octagon Theatre) and Hot Mikado (Watermill, Newbury).
Goldthorp will play the roles of Trekkie Monster and Nicky. He appeared in the U.K. premiere of I Love You Because at the Landor Theatre. His other theatre work includes: Beauty and the Beast, The Drowsy Chaperone, Woman in White, Whistle Down the Wind and Les Miserables.
Mary Doherty and Delroy Atkinson will continue in the roles of Mrs T./Bad Idea Bear and Gary Coleman, respectively. A new cast member in the role of Christmas Eve will be announced shortly.
