The next show produced by Dove Attia and Albert Cohen, at the Palais des Sports in Paris starting in September 2012.
We’re in France in spring 1789, famine and unemployment are sweeping the countryside and towns. The revolt is brewing while at Versailles the court of Louis XVI, insolent and frivolous, continues to recklessly spend the State’s money.
Coming from these clashing societies who fear each other, Olympe and Lazare should have never met. He, a young countryman revolted by the injustices that have deprived him of his land, goes to Paris to gain Liberty. She, daughter of nobility, governess to the royal children at Versailles, sacrifices herself body and soul in the service of her lady, the queen Marie Antoinette. And yet…
Caught up in the fevers and whirlwind of the brewing revolution, Olympe and Lazare will plunge together into the craziest and most romantic intrigues. They’ll love each other passionately, lose each other and find each other. Accompanying the highester characters of their time such as the magnificent Danton, the spirited writer Camille Desmoulins or Jacques Necker the austere minister of the king, they will know the ups and downs of the story of the French Revolution.
Their love will lead them to the morning of July 14, 1789, at the foot of one of the darkest and most mysterious prisons of Paris, the Bastille, where they will live through the event that will seal their fates forever but also mark the emergence of a new world, the takeoff of the new promises of liberty and brotherhood between men.
I’m not totally sold on the plot, but it’s still more promising than anything else and that brings me so much happiness. Also, the only character I can’t seem to spot in the video is Danton. I don’t know any names from the cast yet except Rod Janois, but I do spot three dancers from MOR in the video: Corentin Mazo, Jonathan Jenvrin, and Tamara Fernando (infamously in a relationship with Florent Mothe, she’s the dancer from Je dors sur des roses)
