These seats are in two elevated “curves” looking down on the actors’ playing area from behind. The lower row AA is around 14 feet above the stage, row BB is behind and above at 17 feet above. To give some idea of scale, row BB begins just below the height of the Upper Circle boxes.
Each row is of proper theatre seats, not benches, and is constructed above the set in a tiered corridor with a padded wall in front to lean on.
Row AA provides a view of around a quarter of the stage without leaning forward. Those seated here will need to lean forward throughout the production to see the whole stage. Row BB provides no view at all of the stage without leaning forwards.
The seats are designed to be an “experience” rather than to see the play from, and the monkey cannot emphasise enough that the seats are NOT suitable for anyone unwilling to lean forward the whole time to see the performance. The value is in the experience, not the view, in Judge Monkey’s opinion.
