Don’t be misled by imposters! The success of tkts Leicester Square (formally known as the Half Price Ticket Booth) has led to many other discount theatre ticket operations springing up around the Square, all loudly advertising Half Price and cheap West End theatre tickets. You will almost certainly get a poorer deal, less choice of shows, worse seats plus a large booking fee at many of these outlets. So remember - head for the official tkts booth in the clocktower building in the middle of Leicester Square!
If you do buy in person from a ticket agent, make sure that you are shown the true value of the ticket (printed on the ticket) and the location of your seats on a seating plan of the theatre. The Society of London Theatre recommends that you purchase tickets only from members of STAR, the The Society of Ticket Agents & Retailers. Ask to see proof of STAR membership.
Do not buy tickets from individuals in the street - ticket touts or scalpers are unfortunately still common around London’s Theatreland. You will almost certainly be ripped off, and potentially be sold an invalid ticket.
